scrub -  body sugar scrub for vibrant clean beauty company

I created packaging design for cosmetic company, scrub. I chose to base my design decisions around the resurfacing early 2000's (or Y2K) trends in design and on the market.  Below I will take you through pieces of my creative process.

Step 1: Inspiration

I gathered inspiration from three places in particular: the Y2K era for color scheme and energy, bubbles to invoke what 'scrub' entails, and clean beauty because it is a part of the same market. Clean beauty products are also often designed 'cleanly' like their products suggest. The culmination of these three inspos lead to make something playful and energized while retaining clean-lined sleekness.

Step 2: Ideation

In this step I started to ideate and create many versions of this branding before finalizing the design. I toyed with color, shape, and hierarchy. This part of the process was not without its challenges. Something that I had originally considered final was missing the mark and I knew I had to rework it until it accomplished the goal better.

Step 3: Finalization

This is what I ended up with at the end of my process. Sleek, playful, AND Y2K.
