I designed a logo for an up-and-coming LA based media production company.
Step 1: Inspiration
I always strive to make sure my designs fit the energy of the company and its goals. I first talked to the client about what colors, shapes, and styles inspire him. Here I learned that he loves sharp shapes such as triangles and pyramids, greyscale, and the color orange. He sent me some inspiration pictures as well.
Step 2: Ideation
From the inspiration photos I noticed a few key elements that he wanted in his logo: minimalism, modernism, and geometry. When I was sketching, I really loved the idea of creating a crown shape out of the company initials. It felt luxurious and chic to me like all of the inspiration pictures. A crown also symbolizes success and confidence. I decided to include an alternative design which was simpler and more universal if that was the direction the client desired. I typically like to give a few related options.
Step 3: Finalization
The final logo effectively exhibits this company's professionalism and the legacy they are going to build in the media industry.
